Where your browser allows it, record your own spoken call locally and play it back. This helps you hear hesitation, missing vessel names, or unclear positions.
The scenario simulator is for active recall. Build the call from phrase chips, say it aloud, listen to the expected response, then compare what you said with the model.
Recording yourself locally can reveal problems that silent quizzes hide: rushing, mumbling, missing the vessel identity, or forgetting to release PTT pauses.
Listen for pace and clarity.
Check whether the call would make sense to a coast station.
The simulator should feel like a cockpit decision, not a generic quiz. Routine, safety, urgency, and distress calls have different priorities and phrase order.
